Toxic company working almost like a cult - Engagement Manager PlanetMark Employee Review

Pros

If you're at the early steps of your career in sustainability, the "always more, always higher, always happy and smiley and together!" culture might work for you. You will get perks that are rather attractive and will be filled with (way too much) energy every single day. Depending on what role, salaries can be decent - as long as you're not London-based and manage to negotiate attendance to the weekly face to face team meetings. Working with clients can be very rewarding.

Cons

From the clients side and on paper, everything looks and sounds like a dream. But the company has a funny classist feeling, and unless you belong to their lot, you will be out soon, one way or another, because of things such as: - Extremely toxic "positive culture" - terms like "no", "but", or acknowledging that the company didn't deliver, is almost forbidden - although no one talks about it. - Massive lack of transparency, especially when employees leave/are unexpectedly sacked. - Lack of integrity when advising clients. - Endless hours in team meetings. - Still figuring out processes and products, which means constantly introducing changes in how the company operates, and also in business priorities.

Pros

The staff are genuinely friendly, fun, and supportive, especially when you first join. Helpful onboarding from peers makes settling in easier.

Cons

-Huge pay discrepancies: one colleague was earning more than double my salary for the same role. -No clear direction from the company; priorities constantly shift. -Sales process is virtually non-existent, making it difficult to succeed in the role. -Favouritism towards long-tenured employees, regardless of performance. -Marketing team contributed little to nothing towards supporting sales. -Senior leadership are rarely available, leaving staff to guess and figure things out on their own. -They promote a “we’re a family” culture, but will let people go without any warning or constructive feedback.

Pros

Working with experts in sustainability Visionary, respected and inspirational CEO ( ( he is moving on into another role within Planet Mark) Great leadership team who care about the people Culture great within Planet Mark Always felt heard and supported Equal work life balance and flexibility

Cons

There is a nervousness around corporate interference from parent company Will loose what made Planet Mark stand apart from the crowd Compensation could be better as some roles are not comparable in the market but that can be said for a lot of companies, they are not bad salaries though!
