Pros

No one does what PP does. If you care passionately about reproductive justice and women's rights, then this is a great place for you to learn skills in patient education, basic clinic management, health services, and public policy. This review is for the Federation in NYC. - good benefits, although the health insurance is expensive, which is ridiculous, because if they would negotiate for all the employees instead of just the National Office they could get decent rates. - good work/life balance, as a rule, unless something huge is going on (e.g. defunding fight) - people who are very dedicated to women's health. You will meet some amazing people.

Cons

- There is much variablility across the system. When looking for reviews, make sure you are learning about your LOCAL PP, not the Federation (National Office), unless you are looking to get a job at the Federation in NYC, DC, or Miami. - Unless you went to a specific school and live within NYC, they don't consider you for higher level promotions. Public Affairs runs on people who can't wait to leave to go to law school and that's always where their head is. - Communication is terrible. - Poor diversity - Cattiness and office politics tend to get out of hand
