Pros
The actual work is easy
Cons
The work environment at Plarium's Kharkiv studio is utterly toxic. Bullying and backbiting are commonplace and occur for seemingly any reason. One female colleague was finally fired — after three years — for verbal abuse, but male colleagues kept their jobs despite exhibiting similar behavior. Two colleagues quit because the environment was so toxic. I stayed on for nearly four years because I was dating a local and other options for a non-Russian speaker in the area were extremely limited. Employees are directed by management to write fake reviews for the company's own games on Amazon, Google, and the App Store, and while participation in birthday events and charity drives is stated as being optional, the pressure to take part is so intense that it soon becomes apparent you have no choice. The management is, at almost every level, terrible, and directives are often rescinded. The salary is decent compared to the local competition but there are no benefits, no insurance, and no 401k. But they have a slide! A game room! A gym! Working here is "fun"!
