Pros
Great opportunity for young students with little experience to network and experience a retail environment. Awesome work mates, good discount.
Cons
Extremely political, unprofessional work environment. Causes natural friction between the team when certain members are given 5 hours a week, and others are given 20+. Absolutely spineless when you try and address any issue, upper and middle management are a group of children with no understanding of how to lead and think irrational, impulse decisions are the best way to cope with their problems. You will most likely not make your sales target, but that doesn't even matter unless the manager loves you and the area manager doesn't directly sabotage your place in the team. So unbelievably unorganised, very little training, often spring shifts and responsibilities on team with little notice - unreasonably strict rules while upper management themselves do not cooperate with said rules. Favouritism isn't hidden and you must essentially suck up to any superior to even stay within the company. Incredibly unprofessional dismissal process. There are no measures of success, no real opportunities to branch out into other careers and they will easily replace employees without a second thought. Really, really left a bad taste in many people's mouth and will never give this company my money or time. I cannot stress enough how absolutely terrible this experience is, don't do it.
