Pros

US Company was in growth mode for three years and making real good progress until some drastic management changes were made by Finland.. There are some good people trying in US to make a difference, but with lack real leadership understanding the US and products not built for the competitiveness in this Country it is not working!

Cons

Corporate management in Finland killed the US momentum by changing US management team. US Management now in shambles, led by outsiders who are condescending and do not understand what it takes to lead in the US.. Moral at all-time low. Lots of people looking to leave. Company losing share rapidly. A 180 degree difference then last year!

Pros

Good work/life balance. many good people

Cons

lack of leadership & strategic direction inferior product and not fast enough to innovate poor management afraid to rock the boat. a few really negative people and managers too non confrontational to let them go. created this atmosphere that was really bad. sales team: in the field was really passionate about product. but no support. nat sales, some good some bad. marketing team: all of the talented ones leave for bigger things. ALL OF THEM.. leaving only people who don't understand fitness markets. went through multiple restructures from bad to worse. Happens every 4 years without fail. In my time: 1st: "leadership" left entire control to a bipolar tirant woman in HR. had her fist in everything and made everyone in the company miserable. 2nd: "leadership" would sell their soul for a buck. which resulted in really poor product placement and manufactured growth with zero sustainability. extreme poor decision making, good old boys football coach mentality. very low intelligence. this all the result of a few really bad people in parent company making decisions on future of a US office.

Thanks for the candid feedback. I wasn't at Polar during the period you mention. Certainly can assure you that the dynamic has changed dramatically. Much more responsible commercial decisions etc.
