Pros
I enjoyed my time getting to know my colleagues. Most folks are very passionate in social justice and it felt safe to work with like-minded professionals. These are very genuine people. I've made several life-long friends.
Cons
The work culture was toxic and I didn't realize it until a few years later. When you work on behalf of a mission, you forget when you're not being treated well as an employee. When I finally realized it, I made an exit plan and was sure to not burn any bridges. PolicyLink is a well respected organization. Be careful not to burn those bridges.
