Pros
Good ambience. The team is great and full of smart people with a good heart. The business sets a good framework for transparency among us. Everyone knows everyone's personal objective. Also, the business does a good recruiting job and 99% of the time brings bright people.
Lots of knowledge, from the management team to the newest intern, everyone has something to teach you. If you want to learn, just sit down with anyone for a few minutes and you'll learn hips of cool & useful stuff both for your professional and personal life.
Equal opportunities for all to grow. I have seen a few businesses in AU and Pollen is the one with the highest % of international people. Everyone, smart and with a good track of records, has had the opportunity to join the team. The opportunities to grow are real. As long as you want to work hard and go the extra mile, the business is keen to help your professional growth.
Everyone is treated fairly and with humanity. Especially having so many international profiles, we have never had an issue with lack of respect. The salary package is fair and the perks are great.
I don't like focus on anyone, but I think that the previous comment is not fair with our CEO. Paul may be perceived as arrogant sometimes but when you know him you know that's false and you understand how to read him. He is smart, quick and extremely rational. Even if he is extremely busy, he always has time for you if it's really important for you. All his decisions look for the benefit for the business but at the same time for the benefit of his employees. The guy is looking to buy a van for us, his employees, to be able to book it and enjoy of a road trip on the weekends and on holidays, come on, who does that!?!?!
If you have the chance to join us. Do not hesitate. You will learn, you will enjoy and the day you want to change (growing in the business or growing outside) you'll find plenty of support.
Cons
Sometimes lack of rules and procedures may confuse the new joiners in their first weeks
Sometimes we end up working too much. But it's fair to say that if you want a normal workload you can raise your hand and you'll be heared
