Pros
PortPro is a great place to work if you like a fast-paced environment where you can make a real impact. Leadership is focused on future-proofing the supply chain with better technology, while building a company at a sustainable pace.
#1 The people are awesome—since drayage is so niche there's an interesting mix of people whose backgrounds are in tech/saas and people who come from the logistics industry, so the company doesn't have that whole tech bro vibe, which is really nice. Most folks are willing to help each other out and enjoyable to work with. Some members of leadership are scaling a SaaS company for the first time, and they could give a rat's petard about doing things the way other companies do, but rather want to do things the right way for this industry and this company and their people. It's cool.
#2 There’s a lot of room for growth, and if you’re proactive, you can take on more responsibility quickly.
#3 Most roles in the US are remote, though a few teams use a hybrid work schedule.
Cons
- Things move fast, and priorities shift, which might be tough if you’re not used to a high growth environment. Things have really stabilized in the past year but there's still change happening all the time.
- If you're not a solid performer, there's nowhere to hide.
- Like any remote company trying to accomodate time zones all over the world, PP meetings sometimes occur outside your standard 8-5 schedule
- Also related to being remote, there's limited opportunity for in-person facetime, unless you're based in Southern CA or NY/New Jersey
