Pros

Not micro-managed and less travel than most consulting firms, at least what I've experienced. Challenging work and freedom to do that work is refreshing.

Cons

You get pulled in 1,000 different on multiple projects so you can't gain any momentum on one. Management / client delivery has no real good idea of what you're working on or how many hours you're billing. Project managers have no clue what they are doing or how to truly manage projects - but that could be because they are also pulled in so many directions and aren't given many hours for each project. Benefits (medical, vision, dental) are lackluster and below industry offerings as is the salary. No vision, No orthodontia coverage for kids and $1000 annual coverage for dental.

Pros

Free lunch once a month, and decent benefits.

Cons

PowerObjects seems to be a very confused company that has experienced growth and lost sight of their own core values. The company is a lot of hype and no follow through. They hook inexperienced prospective employees with false promises. They prefer to hire employees with less qualifications than the industry standard and pay much less than industry standard. They do not do regular employee reviews and will play favorites when it comes to promotions and raises. They continue to hire new consultants even when current employees are struggling to get billable hours and create a kill or be killed environment. All the awards, free lunches and benefits all look great on the outside but the company will manipulate you into thinking you are getting a great opportunity. Once you dig deeper and realize the facade you will be hoping for an easy way out. You will be at the mercy of their leadership team who will promote their friends and cut everyone else short. They use the term "lateral move" to manipulate employees to take a promotion without a pay increase. I would highly recommend thinking twice if you are interested in PowerObjects everything you see on the outside is not what it seems.
