Premier Research Labs once had potential to live up to the name, but now it is not “premier” at all and performs no research because the laboratory is practically defunct since the leadership has no idea how to run a laboratory, let alone do research. Almost four years under the leadership and not a single scientific publication. The Quality department has lost so much internal experience over the last year from employees leaving (more like fleeing) for better opportunities. 25 years of experience lost in a single department spread over about 12-15 employees who have quit in the last year, and the CEO is totally unaware because the management doesn't tell him.
The most high ranking people at the company after the CEO are utterly unqualified, fail at everything, they know it, and so does the entirety of the workforce except the CEO. They put his philosophical whims and their own reputations above the safety of the employees and the success of the company. He has no idea just how much peril he is in from a regulatory standpoint due to their incompetence and far worse, their malicious tendencies to protect themselves from the ambitions of the rapidly thinning herd of far more competent lower level employees so as to not be exposed as detrimental to the company to the CEO. Luckily for them the CEO keeps himself intentionally closed off from all the actual day-to-day functions and is willfully ignorant of who some of his veteran employees even are or how they contribute because his management team doesn't heap praise on anyone but themselves. They have exclusive access to him and naturally paint themselves a rosy picture as invaluable leaders by stealing credit for all the low level employee's hard work and ideas, and by placing blame on everyone else and on overbearing government regulations for all their myriad mistakes. Nobody dares go around management to report their incompetence to him because they will fiercely retaliate. Upper management excels at one thing only: playing the CEO like a fiddle, because he pays them so ridiculously well while everyone who suffers through and makes up for their incompetence get scab wages. In addition, the CEO openly disrespects women, minorities, and overweight people.
You will feel expendable. You will feel undervalued and overworked. You will feel paranoid. You will feel unsafe. You will feel frustrated at the rampant dysfunction. You will not be offered a proper salary until you put in your two week resignation. My advice to current employees is to do that, even if bluffing. After four miserable years dealing with insidious and woefully incompetent management, I could not recommend this place to anyone except those truly desperate for a paycheck, and it will not be much.
