Pros

A great variety of projects with something new all the time. They put together a good team of people with plenty of experience.

Cons

They pay poorly and there is a lack of compensation. No benefits even though they were promised. No medical, no dental, no bonuses. Management expects tons of overtime work with no compensation for doing extra. Project management is poor with software and hardware changes and updates being done right up to the last minute before delivery.

Pros

This company is a bit of a hidden gem in the automation industry. Even after 25+ years in business, there is still very real opportunity for growth both for the company itself and for employees willing to put in the effort. One of the strongest aspects is the engineering team — many of the engineers have been with the company for 20 years or more, and as a younger or even a seasoned engineer, you can learn an incredible amount from their experience and all-around knowledge. The environment pushes you to grow quickly, and compensation does improve over time if you put the work in. You gain exposure to a wide variety of projects and responsibilities that you may not get elsewhere. The location doesn't hurt either.

Cons

The pace can be extremely fast, and projects are often executed under very tight budgets. Some managers can be difficult to work with depending on the department.

Pros

Best place to work for a knowledge-hungry engineer. Every project is different and brings a new experience from a customer in a unique industry. Projects are intense and fast-paced, but hugely satisfying when complete. Co-workers are at the top of their craft, try to keep up... End-of-year bonus is linked to performance and can be very significant.

Cons

To perform, 40 hours a week will not do. Expect to work hard continuously. If you love what you do, it will be OK. All others, stay away. Medical benefits are marginal, but typical for companies of this size.
