Pros
Management within the DS org is good Structure gives a lot of support to early career Data Analysts/Scientists Remote work anywhere in the US
Cons
Accountability is lacking across the company. Upward mobility, particularly to the data science track, is talked about heavily in recruiting for early career data analysts but actual promotions do not align with these promises. Company works in a very siloed manner and teams are territorial which makes implementing data driven approaches difficult if not impossible. The DS org has little influence in the broader organization and the executives' actions suggest a deep misunderstanding of both analytics in general and the reliance of the business model on Data Science. Senior leadership does not consistently prioritize based on value add. Teams, projects and goals are shuffled regularly and when broad direction is provided it often lacks coherent plans. Leadership is slow to listen and respond to concerns and doesn't accept accountability when discussing them.
