Pros
- You learn many different technology solutions and networking environments. - Develops self-reliance and makes you learn critical thinking. - Great networking with local businesses. - Amazing co-workers who will help out as much as they can.
Cons
- It is unfortunate to say this, but everything else: - Pay is uncompetitive compared to what other MSPs pay. - Ownership who don’t have your back and will throw you under the bus in front of their clients. - Childish threats and name calling in front of other coworkers by owners. - Threats of withholding pay if certain tasks aren’t completed within a certain timeframe. - Micromanagement to the nanoscopic level at times. - Unwilling to listen to employees. Numerous previous employees give suggestions to improve the company. No changes were ever made. - No incentive to sell solutions. Used to have a bonus program but removed because it was “unsustainable”. Now have nothing. No commission for selling equipment or services no matter the selling price. (Six figure solutions have been sold by employees, no commission was given) - Free thinking is often stifled. - Abysmal PTO - No direction or performance reviews unless you specifically ask. And then it usually is just a gripe session about your failures. - Ownership complains about financial hardships to employees, such as losing money to Fantasy’s Football sites but then brags about new 3 story house, pool, and cars when some employees make below minimum wage once expenses are removed. - The list could go on and on.
