But like many government institutions is bound to high pressure deadlines which can impact the culture of shared decision-making and community input.

There are certain people there (like the Equity Manager) that really push the status quo and are challenging leadership to make internal structural changes to ensure transparency and accountability.

Majority of people I worked with doing "equity work" was simply a job requirement they didn't authentically believe in. Lots of white saviors and people with power who just want to stay in power without actually changing anything for the better. Be very careful of who you trust and be weary of the upper leadership..they put up a good front of saying they claim to be anti-racist when their actions do not follow those same aspirations. Beware!
