Pros

Hopefully Russ is still the dispatcher, because he was the only one inside the office that held it all together. The pay was pretty good for myself at around 600-700 / week, but it slowly started decreasing as we lost clients due to our overreaching tendencies and unrealistic promises made to clients.

Cons

I rode minimum 80km / day, in a working environment that was complete chaos. If you were in an accident(which will happen), or hit by a car(which *will* also happen) regardless of your riding skill, there is no effort at all made by QMS to alleviate the financial burden of being off work for 3-4+ weeks. The level of appreciation is only seen by Russ, and everyone else there treats you as a problem as opposed to solution to their problems. If someone doesn’t show up, you end up taking their frustrated crap all day. This company taught me the value I have, and it wasn’t at QMS. If you get the chance to work with Russ, he’ll make you some decent money if you show proper respect and appreciation for the 3000+ deliveries he dispatched daily.

Pros

I got to enjoy the architecture of DC; the outsides and insides of some very interesting buildings. Some had multimillion dollar lobbies, statues, incredible elevators, etc. The challenge of finding parking and getting in and out of buildings quickly was kind of fun. I met some nice people and they appreciated my work as far as getting their delivery done quickly. I also enjoyed the frequent parallel parking (yeah, I'm a little crazy) but it's a good skill to have and it's awesome when you nail it on the first try.

Cons

Extremely low pay, risky to be driving/parking/driving/parking all day in DC; one flat tire or parking ticket or busted headlight would negate your entire day or even a week's pay. The worst was waiting for the next call which sometimes took a while and sitting in traffic every day, all day, then they would send me in the wrong direction for my last delivery so that when it was completed I'd have a 90 minute drive home in the worst traffic of the day.
