Pros
Portland location is very modern - kegerator in kitchen, nice downtown location, cool people to work with. If you have just graduated and want an entry-level GIS/Remote Sensing job, there are a lot of opportunities to learn new skills and sometimes advance quickly.
Cons
Back when this was Watershed Sciences, this was a great company to work for - they treated their employees like human beings, had decent salaries, vacation, 401k, etc. After the merger, the quality of employee life there went down dramatically. Que a shotgun blast of tiny raises, finding out you would lose all your banked sick leave over the coming weekend, less paid time off, and super stressful, alarm-bell deadlines all the time. Predictably, a ton of very talented people quit and got offered better paying jobs. The remaining people quickly advanced to leadership positions because there was simply no one else left to fill them. Hilariously, due to budget cuts and some very questionable choices from the higher-ups, when the front desk person quit, she was replaced by an iPad, and the people sitting by the front desk became "the front desk people." Good job.
