Pros

Friendly coworkers and flexible hours. Good health insurance. Excellent HR and IT departments that go above and beyond. Cutting edge tech stack. Great place to learn soft skills, and would highly recommend this to fresh graduates or people just entering the industry.

Cons

35 to 40 percent lower base salaries relative to other comparable software engineering positions in Toronto. Departments are spread across North America and India, often creating a language barrier and cultural clash. Horrible onboarding process. Militant focus on short-term metrics without any consideration given to sustainability. A severe lack of central planning and team cohesion, due to horribly low salaries and remote work. I have not met a single person from my department in person yet. Working in person for the Toronto office requires relocation unless you live very close by, since driving is nearly impossible and the closest subway station is about 2 km away. No rental allowance + low salaries leads to everyone living in the suburbs and only coming in once in a blue moon, leading to poor team cohesion.

Pros

A friendly and diverse work culture. Great opportunity to innovate and work with Engineering teams that utilize systems and tools that are industry standard and catered to the DevOps culture. The flexible working hours have been great.

Cons

No real cons. The diverse teams are sometimes in different time zones but can be managed easily. Its a new fresh company and has potential for rapid growth.
