Pros

Salary was paid on time. Good opportunity to learn healthcare revenue cycle management processes. Exposure to working with multiple teams and clients.

Cons

Favoritism in management decisions and employee treatment. Lack of empathy and support for employees during challenging situations. Employee concerns and feedback were often overlooked. Work environment felt more focused on metrics than employee well-being. Limited recognition and growth opportunities for deserving employees. High pressure with insufficient support from leadership.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
