      Pros

      • If you deliver strong results and a happy client your career has unlimited potential • Ownership and accountability, you own projects 100% and are ultimately responsible for the outcome of your projects • Fast paced, your priorities and initiatives are constantly changing. You have to adapt quickly but you’ll never be bored • Industry innovator, what the company is doing with the Cost and Total Quality of Care service line is truly “best in bread” and not being done by anyone else. This could totally transform healthcare as we know it.

      Cons

      • The hours are long and the pace of work is intense, not suited for everyone • Very direct feedback is the culture at Accretive, which does not always motivate junior staff

      No promotions, and the yearly pay increase is basically the inflation rate

      Pros

      The voluntary separation offer was good.

      Cons

      I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
