Pros
- One of my managers was outstanding. They taught me so many transferable skills that I continue to use. - Useful career experience, especially for those interested in continuing on in ESG.
Cons
- Inappropriate comments to lower level staff and frequent microaggressions towards the small amount of POCs, even from HR. - A total lack of transparency. After working 2+ years, I didn't even know what a project budget or SOW looked like. It felt very confusing to have the majority of client burden sitting on my shoulders without knowing any of the behind-the-scenes. - There is an overwhelming resentment from upper management when staff leave. As a company with such high turnover, you would expect there to be some reflection as to if that resentment is actually helping company culture. - I heard of an employee who worked the full 2021 calendar year and did not receive their annual bonuses that were given out a week before they left. That left a sour taste in my mouth and shows how it's an you vs. us mentality once you vocalize concerns or submit your two weeks. - I once expressed a negative experience with HR about a manager and HR turned around and told that manager without letting me know. I understand that its HR's role, but for such a small company (at least at the time), it was slimy. - There were promotions dangled over my head while others were promoted under the rug. - There are clear favorites. No questions asked.
