Pros

Lots of smart interesting young people work in the office from many different countries. Pay and benefits are decent (although not everyone may be equally compensated for the same work). Most everyone is friendly, helpful, and usually thoughtful. Supposedly in good times, the parties can be fun and there is a nice social atmosphere to the office.

Cons

At the top it's an amateurish largely British white boys club and regrettably does not reflect the diversity of its staff. There can be an undercurrent of racial tension because of this and supposed inequitable pay packages. The management would like to making the firm more cutting edge, but their number one priority seems to be to serve corporate interests while nicely lining their own pockets. Design and methods will be compromised to placate the conservative clients. There are very few people in the HK office who have more than 15 or 20 years working experience so it lacks technical depth. In way this works ok as the HK office usually does not do much construction detailing, but then there is the downside of not having control over the detailing means the projects are usually built very shoddily. There is high turnover and can be large layoffs.

Pros

Have a great work ethic towards projects that i've never scene in other large scale offices. Project types may vary; however, they are on a large scale and give you the opportunities to express your own designs and ideas to clients.

Cons

Large scale offices such as rmjm, tend to have problems promoting and recognizing people's efforts on projects.

Pros

Friendly, supportive environment. A great group of very talented architects. You will learn a lot by working here. A diverse mix of projects both in type and scale and region. Great views from the 24th floor.

Cons

The office is riding on the success of previous projects. The bulk of projects are from the Hillier legacy. Continuing financial pressures and an overall lack of leadership to ride out the 2nd recession of 2011.
