Pros

One of the significant advantages was the remote working environment, which allowed for SOME flexibility and a better work-life balance. Additionally, the company offered competitive remuneration, especially for those who negotiated their compensation effectively. However, I'd like to add that beyond the competitive remuneration, there isn't a whole lot of employee benefits specifically for contractors.

Cons

The management's approach to running the business left much to be desired. The CEO's constant pursuit of shortcuts and corner-cutting practices hindered progress and made it challenging to achieve KPIs. This was exacerbated by the lack of proper tools and resources to support employees in their roles, hindering their potential for success. Furthermore, the company's culture suffered due to the predominantly remote work setup. There was little effort invested in fostering a sense of camaraderie among colleagues, leading to minimal communication and interaction beyond work-related matters. The management's lack of transparency added to this issue, as employees were often left in the dark about important company decisions and developments. Another discouraging aspect was the lack of clear opportunities for professional growth. The absence of a well-defined career path left employees uncertain about their future within the organization. Moreover, the management's micromanagement style stifled creativity and limited opportunities for self-expression and innovation. Work discussions were inadequate, with little room for employee input, resulting in a dissatisfying work experience overall.

I'd like to address the feedback here personally and I appreciate you taking the time to share your review and your concerns and regret that your experience wasn't as positive as we all would have hoped for. I hope as I reply and give more context, it will be helpful not only for you to see that your feedback has been taken on board and actioned but also for others who may read my response as they contemplate applying. In terms of the feedback on my work and approach as CEO of ROAS Media, I will always try and take the path of least resistance if it makes sense to do so for us and our clients, and other times I will invest and push through with longer-term and more challenging paths and investments in time/resources where that makes the more sense to do so. Doing right by the team and our clients is something I highly value and have made a number of sacrifices over the years to stay true to this and will continue to operate with this as an integral part of our operations. The feedback on tools/recourses from that point in time is fair - like many relatively young startups, our internal documentation wasn't as robust as it could be but it's something we've heavily worked on in the last couple of months to refine further and we now have these documented within a central hub. In addition to this, we've invested further in new internal tools and expanded our management team significantly to provide more support in these areas as we continue to expand. One of the many things I take pride in for what we've built at ROAS Media is an open and honest culture that's very transparent - so while I was surprised to see the feedback on this, I am reflecting on where there could be some disconnects here that we can improve on. In terms of transparency around big company decisions, we have a few things in place to ensure everyone is aware and has an opportunity to input and ask questions such as our monthly all-hands meetings where we go through plans as a team - we also share our entire PnL performance openly and hold Q&A sessions at the end. In addition to this, I have a standing weekly office hour for anyone on the team to book my time and ask questions or share ideas and feedback and skip level meetings to ensure everyone has a chance for their voice to be heard. We're also putting out regular team pulse surveys for further opportunities to give feedback and input here. I appreciate your feedback on the remote setup and the challenges every company with this structure is working to refine - it's something very much top of mind for us and we have implemented a number of things to bring the whole team closer together and more travel across teams/markets to strengthen the culture and experience in some of our newly formed teams. Lastly, you raised a fair point on career pathways as an area of refinement and it is something we've invested a lot of time and money into in the 2nd half of this year to further refine through outside consultants and our conversations with our newer team members and those that have been with us for years to ensure we're building a company and career pathway that's exciting and provides new and fruitful opportunities within ROAS Media as they continue on this journey with us. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Thanks, Rich.

Pros

The best way to describe working at ROAS Media is you are given the best opportunity in the world to be surrounded by goal-driven people, working with ambitious clients, and the free reigns to develop yourself the way you want to develop your career in the short term, medium term and long term. Being a part of the company's fast and exciting growth, the dynamic between every single person in the team makes this feel like a part of a family, working together towards the same goal, supporting each other whenever help is needed, both professionally and as friends. As the team grew, the family-oriented culture never dissipated as the team continues to encourage new joiners, helping them settle into the team's dynamic culture. Personal and professional growth is also heavily encouraged, assisted by a very strong support system from within the team, whether it comes from the managers or peers of similar level. Adding onto that the fiery ambition for the company to grow further and become the best, surely fuels personal development goals.

Cons

Working in a business that is constantly moving and growing, the team can be a little bit stretched at some points when new businesses development is ahead of hirings. In saying that, plans are usually in place to grow the team further.

Thank you for the awesome review! This captures our goals, vision, and culture so well and is still core to operation and focus today (with more team members now and hiring ahead of BD growth as we continue to expand ;) ). Thank you for being a part of our early founding team! Best, Rich.

Pros

ROAS Media is one of the leading digital agencies out there with more managed spend than many other large MNCs in the paid social space. If you're someone looking to really accelerate your career in the paid advertising space, this will be a great place for you. - Working across a multitude of verticals e.g. fitness, fashion, skincare, SAAS, e-commerce etc. - Managing high ad spend monthly (more room for experimentation and learning) - Flat hierarchy (able to learn and communicate directly with Directors) - Flexibility to take on different functions (Performance, client servicing, marketing etc) - Very experienced and elite team of media professionals

Cons

As with most lean digital agencies, the pace is usually a lot faster. This provides many learning opportunities and avenues, but may not be for everyone. When I first joined ROAS Media, I had previously been dabbling a lot in dropshipping, e-commerce and facebook marketing. I believed that that passion and interest was what helped me to really grow in the company. It wasn't "just another job" for me but a chance for me to re-learn and experience first-hand how brands and businesses were scaled. 2.5 years later, I still don't regret my decision.
