I worked at the company for two years, and despite putting in strong technical work, the overall experience was disappointing. I consistently delivered high-quality results, learned new skills specifically for the contracts I supported, and handled my responsibilities professionally. Even with full-time hours, the contractor structure created a sense of instability, lower compensation, and very little job security.
What was most difficult was being suddenly let go while actively working on two projects — with no two-week notice and no real explanation. This happened a few months after I came back from my Maternity leave and while my husband was recovering from surgery. The timing and lack of communication felt extremely insensitive and showed very little consideration for my circumstances.
I also couldn’t ignore the noticeable lack of diversity within the team. This contributed to a feeling of not fully belonging, and some decisions — including mine — felt inconsistent and unclear. It left me questioning whether employees’ needs and contributions were truly valued.
