Pros

Some of the people are nice. You may have better luck in a consulting service line.

Cons

There is a lot of turnover in the tax department due to the partner running compliance. The partner has no leadership skills. He is unable to keep his people busy and is quick to blame others for his mess. Most people do not stay a year. Nobody has confidence in the partner running the group, and nobody respects him. Good people have transferred from other offices within the firm only to leave after a year because of the mismanagement.

Pros

If you are in the right team, with good seniors and good managers you will have a good time with the work. Hybrid was a very nice touch, they were pretty good about allowing you your two days at home if you wanted them. Benefits were decent

Cons

Very, very team dependent. A ton of seniors seriously don't want to teach at all. I remember coming up, and even after I was a senior, listening to people complain so much that they got a first year, and they did not want to teach them or didn't have time to. Its a huge popularity contest on if you get good jobs or not. Partners will make you work the most crap jobs and keep all the good jobs for their favorites. They use and abuse people so often. Got laid off 1 day after the busy season.
