Pros

Working at RKPR has been so fun! I love my colleagues and working for brands that are truly making a difference in consumer wellness, plus the job comes with a lot of awesome perks too. Leadership is strong and supportive here, which has been so refreshing to experience in an industry that usually has high turnover. Not to mention I get to work in the beautiful city of San Diego!

Cons

No cons that any other job wouldn’t have. It gets more busy at certain points of the year, but there’s a lot of support as long as you ask.

Pros

I've worked here for almost a year as an Account Coordinator and it's been the best job experience I've ever had. At my previous PR agency I was in the same entry level role, but I wasn't allowed on any client calls and was micromanaged constantly. As an AC at RKPR, they give you a lot more independence than I expected. You're on every client call, writing high level press releases, handling client relations, and pitching to really top tier media. I think this independence is what I love most about working here. I've learned to trust myself and my intuition with the guidance of some pretty amazing and brilliant people. We go into the office once a week which is great for work/life balance, and we typically always eat our lunch together as a team. I worked in prior offices that never did this and I personally love it. There are no scary bosses here, the higher-ups want you and the client to succeed and they really support you when you need it. Management also is extremely transparent with the team. We have monthly status calls where the entire team is able to hear about new potential clients, general admin, and recognition to team members that are really standing out. This level of transparency with an entire staff is so rare, and I always appreciate this company-wide communication as a junior level employee. Everyone is treated very equally here regardless of title or experience, if you have a good idea, you have a good idea! You get to work with some really cool CPG clients that are so different from each other which keeps your job interesting. Overall I really recommend working here, it's so hard to find any drawbacks.

Cons

Because of how rigorous PR agency work can be, you really have to be a self-starter to work here. If CPG brands excite you, if you're creative, and if you don't mind having a full plate most of the time, then you will absolutely thrive here. I think it's much better to be busy with fun tasks to do rather than bored with lame tasks to do.
