Pros

I worked at the Security Division. The technology was very interesting and the engineers were very competent. The company was and i believe is still relatively small and provides lot of growth opportunities for engineers and managers to get involved and learn a lot about the products, customers. Engineering team is also very involved with customers and they are paired with them which is one of the very unique things about the division i worked at. This provides an excellent opportunity to have constant and unfiltered communication with customers and it helps in speeding up the development process and more exposure for all team members. The compensation and benefits are also competitive with other tech companies in both SF and south bay locations.

Cons

- The company is trying to shift from a IP company into product company in both hardware and software. They need to attract and retain world class talent in leadership and engineering to bring more experiences executives who actually shipped enterprise software for many years and built large distributed software teams. It is important to provide support and space to the team instead of changing gears too often. Be proactive and less re-active - Slow processes and the company is from top-down driven. Rambus is a pretty tradition company but they are trying to enter new markets and compete with startups and other companies that move faster. They need to adapt to new technologies and move faster.
