Pros
Ramsey is full of some of the most brilliant and talented people I've ever met. The vast majority of the team has a good heart and a desire to make lasting change in the world. Some of my best friends came from this place, and that can't be overlooked. For all the pain Ramsey has caused, at least it's given me some incredible relationships.
Cons
Every word you've read in the press is true (at least to my knowledge). Ramsey will fight against it and say it's half truths, it's exaggerated, it's spiritual warfare. But they're lying to you. If you want to know what's really happening inside the walls of that shiny new building, check out the Religion News Service article from January 2021. Ramsey Solutions is about as toxic as it gets, which is super disappointing since they tout how "non-toxic and non-corporate" they are. They also say they operate within biblical principles. But I've never seen anyone as un-Christlike as Dave and many of the board members. Hate, malice, and vitriol are the words that come to mind when I think about the way they speak and carry themselves. I hope for your sake you don't get screamed at by Dave during your time here. But know we're not all that lucky. You're rarely set up to win and then get verbally smacked by Dave if you mess up. It's deeply embarrassing and heart-crushing. I'm still trying to mentally recover from when it happened to me in front of my whole team. The hypocrisy is some of the worst I've ever seen. They hired and kept an abuser, a groomer, and a cheater. They made excuses for him. Put him on the radio and on stages in front of thousands. Boosted his name and brand. How convenient that they apparently learned the extent of his bad behavior the same exact day the plaintiff in a lawsuit against them requested his personnel file. That plaintiff? Yeah, she was fired for getting pregnant. They fired the cheater the same exact day his name showed up in her court case. Coincidence?? Doubtful. Seems like they just didn't want to get their butts handed to them in court. The interview process is insane. It's basically set up to figure out which candidates have healthy boundaries for their lives. Hint: they want the ones who don't. They want the ones that have no problem forking over their household budgets or involving their spouse in the interview process. Basically the whole thing is set up to groom futures employees for all the ways their boundaries will continue to be violated during their tenure. I've been gone for several months now and am still dealing with the psychological fallout of my time there. There's a reason there are therapists in middle TN that specialize is caring for former Ramsey employees. I'm half expecting the board to figure out who I am from this review and show up on my doorstep in an effort to silence me. But that fear is exactly what they want me to be stuck in. It's how they win.
