Public Affairs Intern - Public Affairs Intern Rasky Baerlein Employee Review

Pros

Strong atmosphere of collaboration where interns are treated like valued team members rather than the help. Weekly "intern lunches" held by the various teams to present on their respective role and scope of work are very informative and give interns a chance to familiarize themselves with the business. Interns will gain valuable and practical communications experience, rather than performing administrative tasks.

Cons

Depending on the team an intern is assigned to, tasks can be very repetitive. An intern working on the PR side of the firm will likely spend a large portion of each day calling a list of media outlets to pitch press releases that often have a low success rate which can be demoralizing. Fairly low hourly pay, but this can be a blessing as many internships are entirely unpaid.
