Pros

The type of work the company is focused on at present is very interesting.

Cons

Two years ago Raytheon was absorbed (merged is the word they use) by UTC making Raytheon Missiles & Defense, Raytheon Intelligence & Space, Pratt & Whitney, and Collins Aerospace all one company under one name which is Raytheon Technologies. If you’re an early-career Electrical/Computer/Software Engineer there are nearly zero opportunities for sufficient career progression relative to technical development because the company doesn’t value their senior engineers and attrition is through the roof. If you’re a senior engineer you have very little help and the company has decided to place an emphasis on hiring new grads with zero experience and no clearance so I’m addition to being underpaid, you’re also extremely overworked due to the promises made my executive level management and Program Managers to the PEO to win contracts. The health insurance is borderline non existent with terrible high-deductible plans being the only option. The company is quite simply in a state of chaos having what appears to be an identity crisis while UTC tries to figure out how to best take advantage of Raytheon’s name; however, you must understand Raytheon doesn’t exist anymore. It’s UTC masquerading as Raytheon after purchasing then and replacing the Raytheon leadership with their own.

Pros

9/80 and every 2nd Friday off, generous vacation time.

Cons

The company is 100+ years old and functions almost entirely on inertia. Senior Management is totally disconnected from the day to day, and it shows in the content of their "community" video meetings. They talk about diversity but have no interest in applying it. Most of the time they totally ignore the needs of their disabled employees.
