Pros

RM advocates for young people with autism and similar disabilities. Often times, advocacy brings about scrutiny. I can honestly say that whatever claims have been made against this company regarding fraud and/or wrong doing on their part are simply not true. I worked in a truly toxic environment for almost 17 years, but that is not the case at Reaching Milestones. RM truly cares about their team members. They offer competitive salary, great benefits, and opportunities for advancement. My supervisor has an open communication policy. Additionally, I am completely comfortable with our Executive Team because they treat me as an equal. I am acknowledged for my efforts not only by my direct supervisor, but by the entire Exec Team. I am as comfortable with my officemates, admins, and clinicians as I am with the Exec Team because I truly feel we are a team working towards a greater good, that is, to help young people succeed. RM rewards their team members for their contributions. If you are consistently putting in your best effort and making strides to help the continued success of the company, your efforts will be recognized. My work environment is SAFE. I feel at home. RM understands and appreciates the work-life balance. This is so important for me as a working Mom of two busy teenagers. Business driven decisions are equitable and inclusive of everyone. I cannot say enough about what our Leadership has done, and has continued to do, to maintain a level of comfort for everyone in light of COVID-19.

Cons

My work environment may differ slightly from those at the clinic level. I completely acknowledge the effort these folks put in, and the challenges they face each day working with children on all levels of the autism spectrum. I personally feel that RM has made great strides in communicating the challenges these clinicians may face at the recruiting level over the last year and a half. Additional scrutiny has been placed on processes like recruiting, interviewing and onboarding, and training to identify candidates who are the best fit for open positions and give them the resources they need to be successful at what they do. RM continues to improve as it relates to listening to the needs of their team members, through performance review feedback and anonymous surveys. Their HR manager is a great team member advocate, and always thinking of ways to outreach, incentivize, and streamline to make our work experience more enjoyable. It just keeps getting better.

Pros

Good starting point for someone that’s new to the field. Working with the kids can be very rewarding when you see them progress in their skills. You can meet great colleagues along the way.

Cons

Management has poor communication. If one person messes up, there’s a team meeting addressing it instead of them talking to people individually, and the problem often doesn’t stay “fixed”. Some rules seem to only be enforced once management is upset or apply to some and not others. There is little to no in-clinic support from BCBA. Although supervision via telehealth is given, it’s not ideal, management knows this, and has said this, and continue working remotely more often than in clinic despite requests for their presence from staff and administration. Felt more revenue driven than therapy driven. Rather than addressing poor job performance, they’d put more complex clients with some RBTs instead of others, leaving the workload among employees unbalanced. People with more difficult caseloads would often get burned out quickly because of this. Even when problems were addressed with management by employees, their answer was always providing more supervision, which was often times not the solution, especially when one of the concerns was in person support and they just provide more remote supervision. HIPAA issues. After not working there for a while or using Zoom since working there, I went to go to my personal Zoom account and I still had access to all of the conversations and the company email address.
