Cutting edge technology. Ambitious plans. Small company means you can have a lot of impact. Some very experienced people there to learn from.
Cons
Extreme pace demanded constantly. Technical decision making was very poor, decisions were made by the loudest voice rather than the soundest analysis. Bonuses promised but never actually delivered. Constant public criticism. While working here I delivered one of the products key competitive advantages, and this achievement was never acknowledged. Very little praise or positive reinforcement. Management deliberately created team structures that maximized conflict. Management never took responsibility for issues and blame the team instead. Management empowered people who didn't know what they were doing while marginalizing people who did. Good technical solutions were thrown out because of architects egos. After working every single weekend for 12 months I asked for an hour of flex time to care for my child, this request was denied because "the team needs me". When I was alerted for production issues in the middle of the night I was not permitted to take time off during the day to catch up on sleep. After working here for several years I needed medication and counselling to properly recover. I have heard its somewhat better now but this doesn't change the fact that these things happened to me, I am damaged from it as a result, and nobody has ever acknowledged this let alone apologized.
