Pros
Interns were a tight group. Always helped each other out and spent time together. Management promoted learning, so we'd have weekly Thursday classes about whichever topic. I think a pretty cool one was on crypto and Chinese policy on it. I learned quite a bit about the economic atmosphere in China in general. Interns have the opportunity to write about any industry so you can get to know a little about everything or focus only on tech/health/finance/etc. I guess it's really up to you As for the pay, it's really up to how many reports you write since you're paid for that rather than the numbers of hours you work. You're paid in crypto. Also, I think the pay per article was decent if you compare it to other Chinese internships since you're lucky if you even get paid for internships in China. Don't compare it to the minimum wage in the US lol
Cons
As some of the other reviews on here have said, there isn't much guidance from people who work there full time. not much standardization of processes. The first 2 weeks were kind of all over the place. if you go in knowing absolutely nothing about tech companies or recent financial news in china, you're basically useless since you're supposed to be doing market research and you have no foundational knowledge there was also a bit of separation between full employees, international interns and Chinese interns. Full employees stuck to themselves. As for the interns, it felt a bit like two different cliques. but I suppose this may be more of a personal thing. you obviously don't need to stick to one, but I found it a bit harder to really be close to the Chinese group. It was a bit strange since they all spoke English and most were educated in Europe, but they'd stick to themselves.
