Pros

Uncapped commission. I started right out of college and was really good at this job. It clicked with me well and I made $73,000... I'm not kidding. At age 22! Where else does that happen??? Plus I won tons of giftcards and lots of electronics and prizes. If you need to make money FAST and you are considering this job, GO FOR IT. If you think you're good at selling...DO IT. Because you can literally make as much money as time/work you want to put into it. That was what I loved about it. If I wanted to make $400 in a day, I could do it. I also loved the laid back atmosphere, I wore sweats most days (winning). I also loved the people (most of them, some of them drink the koolaid and will annoy the absolute crap out of you *ahem* some of the performance managers). They also have good benefits, fun events (but you had to earn your way. Don't expect a Christmas party...only the best agents get to go. Granted, I went to them all but my fave people I worked with weren't always there). If you work here, learn to befriend workforce managers because they will treat you how you treat them....and they control your schedule and your breaks. You want to be on excellent terms with them. I had them wrapped around my finger. But I also was a top agent so that worked to my benefit as well. I also genuinely really loved most of the workforce managers. They are all chill, laid back guys. At least they were when I worked there.

Cons

At some point, or in my case, at many many times....I wanted to die. I hated going to bed at night, I dreaded going to sleep and would put it off because I knew that in the morning I had to go to that place. Talking to dumb, rude, angry people all day WEARS on you like you wouldn't believe. I lost my voice and my voice was permanently raspy from talking ALL.DAY.LONG. I go back and watch videos now of myself back then and my voice sounded terrible. Thankfully when I quit, it went back to normal. I cried a lot. Got frustrated a lot. Some days were great. I won't say I didn't have fun because I did and often. (Mainly because of my amazing team and manager). Once they split us up, it was hell. It will get to you. After about 4 months, I was burned out. I stayed for a year and a half which was way beyond my breaking point. I stayed for the money. But then the comp plan changed for the worse. Eventually the agents do so well and we're making too much money so they basically dial down the comp plan so that even doing the same amount of work/sales...your pay drops. That was my "goodbye" moment. I stayed for the money, and left when I realized it was DEFINITELY not worth it anymore ($45,000-50,000 for me working here was not worth it). It wasn't worth my sanity and me hating life every day. And honestly when I think about it, I wouldn't go back and do that job even if I was guaranteed $73,000 like what I made my first year. It could just be me. Some people are there for years and love it. But most are done in less than a year. Also, you are on a time clock all day. If you want a break or to go to the bathroom, you are timed and you only have so much time a day. It's a bit like being in a prison. If the phone lines are busy, don't expect to be allowed off the phones. They treat you like little slaves often. It just messes with your head.

Pros

Strong ownership, opportunity to manage people early, great people, nice campus. You will work on interesting problems and external companies. Great training if the space interests you.

Cons

Business future is uncertain, up or out management principles. New senior leaders somewhat disconnected from the day-to-day. Commute from Charlotte is horrible.
