Pros

Paycheck and free food and nice.

Cons

The culture is full of fear and toxic leaders. They claim to offer "unlimited" PTO, which is code for "we will work you to the point of breaking". They expect you give up everything in your personal life to work at Redo. My wife hates Redo. It feels like a cult a many ways. People are afraid to leave before 6pm. We have to sneak out of the office. Most of us leave our desk in a state where it's hard to say if we're taking a dump or have left for the day. It's fear based. The product is good, team is good, leadership is immature and expects you to behave like a robot. Beep beep, me do whatever you wish. The engineering leadership is a game of favorites. There's no way to win unless you're willing to ruin your personal life. You can't question leaders or you're branded as having one foot out the door. The senior leadership team openly talks about a "keeper test", but they base this 100% on optics and who the CEO likes. You can't confide in anyone without it coming back to bite you in the butt. You can't talk about any life goals without your leadership team making you feel like you're not "all in" on Redo. You are expected to put 100% of your life on hold if you want the leaders to like you.

Pros

Everyone who works at Redo will learn and grow so much in their career. I'm telling you, Redo is going places and only an act of God is stopping it. Sometimes I have to remind myself how rare it is to be working at a company that's growing this fast and doing as well as it is.

Cons

I've had a pretty poor experience working with the CTO. I almost didn't take the job because of how the interview went with him; he was super distracted the entire time, not really focused on me, and just super cold in general. I shrugged and just passed it off as him putting on his interview face, but then I got hired and realized that's just how he is all the time (if you interview with him you'll see exactly what I'm talking about). He has little control over his emotions. He'll randomly be in a terrible mood one day for absolutely no reason, and will be slamming his fist against his desk, making super passive-aggressive comments to the people around him, or even straight up spiking his computer (yes, this actually happened one time. Very alarming). I legitimately do not feel safe around him at times. Don't get me wrong; the guy is one of the smartest people I know and really knows is stuff, but is also extremely cocky and overly self-confident, which has led to many poor decisions. And I promise you I am not the only engineer that feels this way; many people I've talked to (even non-engineers) feel similarly.
