Highly strung admin role, this is not recruitment! - Talent Partner Reed Talent Solutions Employee Review

Pros

Flexible working to a degree, they still expect 2-3 days in the office per week. Large teams and likely to make long term friends. Decent office, nice café downstairs. Being RPO they tend to change clients quite often and the work load, which keeps you on your toes. 25 days annual leave plus BH. Some managers are great to work with; kind and supportive. You'll be lucky to sit under one of them, and we all know who the decent ones are and who to avoid. You rarely stay in the same team and get to move around and work alongside different people. It's quite refreshing to change things up.

Cons

Salary is not competitive enough, and dont expect much internally if you get promoted. You receive a pointless increase and when you plead for more they preach about being within the salary and progression bracket. If you're good at your job you are rewarded with double the work load. Your target will increase significantly, but your bonus won't. Management have their favourites, its quite apparent and those they don't get along with. Once your name has been run through the mud there is no going back. This isn't a recruitment role, your just an incredibly hard working administrator for external clients. Also beware of job losses, they tend to hire people to cover the needs of a new client, then once the work dries up or they lose the business, they will either place you into something else (if it's available) or dismiss you. Don't be surprised if some favourable person is promoted or handed a lead/management role out of nowhere without following the process. They love to do that!

Reed Talent Solutions Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience at Reed and for your constructive feedback. I agree there are some great reasons to work for Reed but it is disappointing to hear some of your comments around management and reward. We regularly review the salary and benefit packages for our co-members and ensure that pay is equal to workload and responsibility and we are transparent about the earning potential within our roles. Co-members have career pathways they can develop through which provide opportunities for both salary and career progression. Experienced hires are recruited at a level that is appropriate to their experience but this will always be within the boundaries of the career pathways we already have in place for the team to ensure consistency and fairness for all co-members. It is evident you had a mixed experience with the management team and I would hope you had opportunities to raise any concerns you had during your employment with Reed so that this could be addressed and discussed at the time. Your comments about favouritism are concerning as we work hard to have processes and policies in place to ensure all co-members are treated fairly and consistently. If you are able to get in contact with me regarding specifics of this I would like the opportunity to discuss this further. Please contact me on joy.sellars@reed.com.
