Pros

freedom to work your own hours and no office time requirement

Cons

when I was interviewing for the Financial Consultant position (new company position since Jan 2013 – be wary of this), they promised a large book of existing business, and plenty of prospects to call on. I was there for many months and this was NOT the case. no book, they will not allow you to call on clients with out the permission of the bankers. now about these bankers, I have never in my 12 years in the job markets seen a group of people with less work ethic! they are great people, and its not their fault, the upper management allows it. this is all management does not coach you, they just send out emails and do calls asking what you have in your pipeline, this is their “coaching.” no experience as well – my manager had no financial sales experience (they may even be violating an SEC regulation here). their pay grid is terrible, it will take millions of dollars in sales to make a decent commission. Last, they advertise this position as a “investment/financial PLANNER/ADVISOR” you will do NO advising, they will ask you to be transactional: sell, sell, sell, mostly mutual funds and annuities. also, I was told by several colleagues that this is not the only position Regions lures people in with promises and takes them away! if transactional sales is your thing, trust me, work for one of their competitors. if advising is your thing, do not work in banking

Pros

The Culture, the people, the atmosphere are OUTSTANDING- there really is a feeling of camaraderie and "can do" attitude in every person I've met here.

Cons

None so far, if anything, perhaps a tendency to plan a bit too ambitiously- but it definitely seems to steer the ship in the right direction.

Pros

The overall bank culture - they truly show that they value their employees, and fully vested in ensuring that is communicated and shown. I was completely impressed with my onboarding experience, and each day since my start date reaffirms that I made the right decision in accepting their offer. I could immediately tell that they invested in providing adequate tools to make our job functions efficient. There is also a large array of Learning & Development modules that are available to enhance your career. They are always sending out surveys to obtain feedback from the employees about their experience whenever they may have to engage with another area. The atmosphere has also been very welcoming and everyone seems so genuinely happy. They have provided me with a work life balance and good benefits. Regions definitely has identified the ingredients that I believe factor into why one would describe them as a great place to work. If the employees feel appreciated and are happy, it resonates. Its that kind of attitude that will be naturally also extended to our customers because its a embedded culture. I enjoy getting up and going to work everyday because I feel as if I am now working for a company that values the people they employ - and also care about how that also positively impacts their customers.

Cons

I can see that there are some gaps whereas one area may not fully understand what is going on in another - and because of that there may be some unnecessary overlap.
