Pros
ReliabilityFirst is honestly an amazing place to work at, and the electric utility sector of critical infrastructure is a fascinating field to be in. There are countess reasons which make ReliabilityFirst a great place to work: the team is top-notch, the environment is very diverse and inclusive, executives lead with compassion, compensation is competitive, the benefits package is generous, there is a high focus on work life harmony, personal development is encouraged, and the mission is important and equally fulfilling. Additionally, you’ll get the opportunity to connect with, and work alongside, great people all across North America who support the power grid – whether it’s employees of an electric utility, or one of many Regional counterparts in the Electric Reliability Organization – you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact far beyond the walls of ReliabilityFirst. ReliabilityFirst is a smaller organization (~100 people) and that allows you to really build strong relationships with everyone. Teams are very supportive of each other, intra-Regional initiatives, and innovation efforts. Leadership is made up of intelligent and reasonable people who make compassionate decisions and frequently express their appreciation. If you’re fortunate enough to receive a job offer from ReliabilityFirst, I can promise that you would not regret taking it.
Cons
Leadership seems to prefer for employees to be located in the Independence (or Greater Cleveland area) of Ohio. While Ohio definitely has some great things about it (COL being a big one) it may not be a preferred option for some. There are other Regional Entities located throughout the US if Cleveland isn’t your thing – Salt Lake City, St. Paul, Atlanta, Austin, New York, or Charlotte are some of the locations of other ERO Enterprise organizations.
