Pros

Great industry. Lots of hardworking quality employees. Company attempting to upgrade tools. Committed to safety. Local customer service and maint teams. They are trying! Decent pay/benefits. Occasional perks like special events/ contests. Dedicated empathetic front line mgmt. Best company in industry until recently.

Cons

Way too much time spent fixing billing and service issues. Training does not reflect real world scenarios. Turnover is terrible. New pricing tool bad for existing customers. Too many upper mgmt types hired from outside the industry. Be proud of where we came from and develop your talent. RATE INCREASES ARE RUINING CO REPUTATION. 20% increases per year get noticed. Small competitors with poor service can compete due to rate increases alone. Front line mgmt and employees generally don't trust upper mgmt and have poor work/family balance.

Pros

The pay is competitive, especially with overtime opportunities, and there is strong potential to earn a solid income for employees willing to work hard. The job also provides steady work and consistent hours, which can be valuable for drivers looking for financial stability.

Cons

The work/life balance for roll-off drivers can be difficult, particularly when working weekends. Drivers are often scheduled in a way that keeps hours under 60 while still requiring Saturday work, rather than being given an additional recovery day during the week. With the level of physical labor involved, one day off is often not enough to properly recover. There is also a heavy emphasis on “swinging” containers. While swings can make sense when locations are far apart, many are scheduled for stops that are very close together and provide little operational benefit. Swings add significantly more physical labor for drivers and, in some cases, can actually take longer than traditional service methods. Over time, consistently working 55–60 hour weeks under these conditions can lead to fatigue and burnout.
