Pros
Founders are extremely transparent and share a lot of context with employees, which I hadn’t experienced in previous companies. The bar is high, and you constantly learn from very strong colleagues. There’s a lot of mutual trust: autonomy, flexibility, and understanding when things don’t go perfectly, as long as that understanding goes both ways. The product itself is genuinely great, and since developers are the customers, it’s easy to empathize and build the right things. Fully remote with equal pay regardless of location is also a big plus.
Cons
The high bar can also be demanding: expectations are clear, and doing the bare minimum won’t be enough to succeed here. Fully remote work also requires a high level of autonomy and self-organization; you won’t be hand-held by your manager, which may not be for everyone.
