Pros

Revolution IT has lots of contacts with top Australian firms so you can get valuable industry exposure. The Brisbane office has a fantastic mid level manager who is a true diamond in the rough.

Cons

Revolution IT claims to want smart top quality IT professionals, however the nature of their work is mind numbingly tedious. Imagine working long days clicking through screen after screen to check for the occasional error. It barely qualifies as a skilled vocation. As an entry level test consultant I was only paid $20 an hour, however the client firms I contracted to were paying four times that rate to have me on site. As I result I was working long days under very high expectations with Revolution IT taking most of my pay check. My boss by contrast was paid four times my salary to kick into the office two hours after I had arrived, take a swig of whiskey on his desk and then march out before five. Perhaps most annoying of all is the extreme phoniness of this company. When I first arrived I was told that it was a great place to work with fantastic career opportunities. During the exit interview my boss was much more candid describing the company's work as incredibly boring and a 'waste of money'. Australian IT is suffering at the moment, so you may have to accept a position with this company. Just make sure you go in knowing what to expect.
