Pros
When I was hired in 2008 part time, the nonprofit agency had potential for growth and welcomed some new ideas. I was positive despite many business challenges. And the position fit with my work-life balance goals. I felt I contributed to doing great work for programs that made a difference in people's lives.
Cons
There were serious financial issues, operational challenges, low employee morale, and sn overall resistance to change by senior leadership and board members. The agency recognized significant problems too late and was too slow to bring change.
