Pros
You can work for a company that makes an app used by millions and see the work you build on ads which is super surreal.
- PTO if you can take it
Cons
Product and Eng leaders don't really understand the customer or feature sets. The outlook of the company is mostly based on the huge marketing spend the company does.
- Lots of legacy tech debt
- Lack of technical rigor from leadership has lead to lots of code rot
- Doesn't follow modern coding conventions, custom code and processes, huge coupling that prevents modernizing code
- Product is pure chaos
- Constant reorgs every 9-12 months along with high turnover across Eng and Product
- Professional Development is Non Existant its all about shipping something higher ups want. Good luck if you have an idea getting product on board to build it.
- Company talks about values and feedback, but management isn't held accountable and doesn't listen to feedback
- This is a good old boys and friends and family company. The leadership is essentially a number of people who are friends/family and have worked together for years and have cashed out from being bought and costing.
- There is no real room to evolve the companies culture given the same people have lead it for so long.
