Pros
Great opportunity with an exciting, growing international company. Deep culture, product catalogue and organization. Other perks already mentioned Large, robust product catalogue with constant additions, revisions, case studies, and attention to detail. Deep resources within the organization for engineering, lab testing / results, quality control, client education, and sourcing. There are a handful of products which Rothoblaas distributes that are seriously competitive on price and provide real, tangible solutions on the job site. It takes time to figure out which products these are, who they are for and not for. But on the right jobs, they practically sell themselves. Solid logistics. Shipping is very fast in the northeast and is often the glue that keeps clients buying direct. Warehouse is partially-automated in IT headquarters. Products unavailable in U.S. warehouse can sometimes arrive from overseas in less than a week.
Cons
Growing pains mentioned in previous reviews are true. Certain cultural issues are there; others are greatly exaggerated or false. The U.S. subsidiary will continue to grow and hopefully learn from its mistakes. Invoicing, payment terms and collections process need to be re-analyzed and mostly delegated to another department. This is common practice for other major U.S. suppliers. Marketing initiatives should not be the responsibility of an outside sales force. Rothoblaas events have been successful and led to greater opportunities for the team, but it is very difficult visit clients daily, respond to complex inbound sales inquiries at General Contractor pace, follow-up appropriately on existing pipeline, collect on past due accounts, travel frequently & far, successfully host a well-attended event (with food, drink and keynote speakers), and still maintain a work-life balance.
