Let’s start with the place. Middle of nowhere Nevada, the lodge sits on top of a mile long dirt road up up and away from the small town of Lamoille. Views are very dramatic from the lodge with the towering Ruby Mountains and vast Great Basin out of the 360 degree lodge views. There isn’t a view like the lodge anywhere. The business is top notch, run efficiently with care, determination, hands on hard work. People come from around the country & world to experience what Ruby is and to get taken care of the way the business does. The feeling of working here brings value to many and the business is a key part of the community and beyond.

You work a lot with the same people, there are bound to be internal issues like in any business. I have seen management handle issues within the team respectfully, calling meetings to clear the air and get everyone on the same page. Whenever there has been a conflict it has been handled professionally and the conflict has been resolved. There are good systems in place for problem solving at different levels.

As the Executive Chef at Ruby 360 Lodge, I can honestly say this place is something truly special. Every single day I’m surrounded by breathtaking views of the Ruby Mountains, It’s not just a beautiful place to work — it’s an experience that fills you with pride and purpose. The culture here is extraordinary. Our team feels more like a family than coworkers. Everyone — from the owners to the housekeeping staff — shares the same passion for creating an unforgettable guest experience.
