Pros

Tuition Remission? Great health benefits. Wouldn't know. Don't have time to take advantage.

Cons

My work life balance is gone. I got fat because I don't even have time to get up and walk around a little because I'm so busy. I'm miserable. I'm doing the work for 2 people. No one wants to train you. Literally no one. And if someone wants to train you, they know nothing about your current role. People here are dogmatic about knowledge hording. You'd think team work and communication are languages of extraterrestrial life forms. Every department/division has a specific role. It probably has something to do with another department/division. They don't know how it relates, and they genuinely don't care. You will see your work falling through the cracks as you desperately attempt to learn your role single-handedly and take on new tasks that are dumped on you. I hope you have a lot of ice cream, because you'll be crying into quite a few pints (consider eating with copious amounts of wine).

Pros

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Cons

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
