Pros
A great midwest company with midwest values. Best part is that it's global and there are many opportunities for those willing to work for them. At the time of this review I have been at company roughly half a year. I have to say I like it thus far. I've been in a few other places professionally and this is by far on of the better of places I've been. The benefits are unmatched. You have a very strong investment from profit sharing to great 401K programs. The Racine campuses have gyms and showers. If you are in the Racine area you also have access to the JMBA for fitness and child care services. Everything is top notch. The work itself is interesting and fast moving. The work that Fisk is doing with sustainability from reducing plastic waste, as well as, reducing carbon emissions is commendable. SC Johnson has many support organization whether you are hispanic, black, Asian or in the LBGT community. It is an inclusive employer. I am happy with my choice to have joined the SC Johnson team.
Cons
The biggest con is the re-organization that had occurred a few years back is still being felt. The brain drain situation is pretty dire and can be a little overwhelming. SC Johnson is not alone in this and that's becoming increasingly clear in my relatively young career. The people that are left still talk about it and there are things that nobody really fully understands and are also hanging on by a thread. They will eventually need to be replaced. It does add a bit of stress, but as long as you realize the limitations and management does as well it's not anything that I would worry about. Right now I would say SC Johnson is still trying to figure out how to operate in this new phase and there are kinks being worked out. With that comes gaps in processes and some confusion amongst cross-functional teams.
