Pros

Protect investors. Novel issues that frequently pop up. Work life balance. Work with many geniuses with Ivy League, Stanford, Georgetown, and Chicago type credentials. And even the state school alumni are extremely capable and driven. Learn new things as regulatory environment evolves. Extensive commitment to training whether it’s CPE courses, legal refreshers or ability to attend conferences. Commitment to all forms of diversity and inclusion whether religious, ethnic, socioeconomic, racial and/or LGBTQ.

Cons

Can be somewhat bureaucratic. Compensation is far below private sector and incentives for promotion not as appealing given pay compression between managerial and non-managerial jobs. Unionized environment which can be positive or negative depending on situation.

Pros

Things have changed under the current Republican administration, but the SEC has always been known as a great place to work with the highest salaries in the federal government and very family friendly

Cons

Current share seems to actively hate his employees
