Pros
Pros - there are so many. This is the coolest place I've ever worked. Not just because of the amazing campus in Betzdorf, the incredible (and heavily subsidized) staff canteen, the sports facilities and gym onsite, but because of the people here and the things they do. I feel very proud that the work I do contributes to the overall success of the company but more importantly to me, that success makes a real difference in the world by connecting people, even in the most remote regions. It's incredible. SES is a company with a great thirty year history but at the same time is also changing to address new markets. The leadership team are very approachable and willing to listen to ideas. There is a real sense of inclusion in the thought process and decision making relating to the future of the business which I really like. Everyone has a voice. Two weeks ago colleagues around the world gathered in their respective locations to watch the launch of four new satellites from a site in French Guiana. It was brilliant to share the experience with my team and many others. Every month there is a global All Staff call hosted by the CEO. Plenty of information shared, people recognized for their success, and last month a new Give Back initiative was launched whereby every employee receives two additional days of paid leave to support a good cause or do voluntary work either as an individual or as a team. Amazing!
Cons
I can't really think of anything negative. Sure, we have a few challenges during this period of change but that's normal in any company. A very small minority of people are unhappy but Management have shared the rationale behind the changes and the rest of us are getting on with things and looking forward.
