Pros

Well-established, globally recognised company with strong credibility Excellent exposure to working in a UKAS / ISO 17025 regulated laboratory Good hands-on training with analytical instruments and laboratory processes Clear standard operating procedures and quality systems Opportunities to build solid technical and data-handling skills early in your career Experience looks strong on a CV, especially for laboratory-based roles

Cons

Workload can be very high, with tight turnaround times and pressure during busy periods Progression and pay increases can be slow and are not always clearly communicated Repetitive work at times, particularly in high-throughput testing environments Staffing levels can feel stretched, which adds pressure to day-to-day work Limited flexibility around working patterns in some roles
