Pros
I’ve only been with SMi for a relatively short amount of time but it’s apparent that this small business really is willing to help their staff develop and succeed but you must be willing to put in the hard work to see the rewards. I’ve taken on a handful of projects in a very short space of time, but it’s enabled me to hit the ground running and develop skills and an understanding of the commercial conference sphere that I didn’t know beforehand. I’d say SMi offers you great internal and external training as a graduate to learn the ropes of conference production. How successful you are here is really determined by you. Extended production cycles Career progression You’re not a number here, you can make a difference Very much a team environment Location! The office is right next to Tower Bridge which is great for lunchtime walks Free tea, coffee and fruit
Cons
If you’re looking for a job where bang on 5.30pm you’re out the door - then this company isn’t for you. If you have a passion for either defence or life sciences and you’re creative, hardworking and resilient then you’ll flourish here. Not enough hours in the day to do the work, it really is about prioritising and managing your work load It’s a demanding role You always have to be on you’re A Game, giving 110%
